Vision and Goals

Many people today are concerned about possible crises, from hurricanes to floods, from economic collapse to major terrorist threats. While there are a multitude of sources on how to prepare for many of these crises, there is not one private authoritative source. There is also a lack of communication between the experts, businesses and individuals who are part of the preparedness industry or who just want to be prepared. NPAoA has been created to address both of these issues.

National Preparedness Association of America (NPAoA) is dedicated to building a network of individuals, corporations and organizations that share information, data and know-how on crisis planning, avoidance, survival and recovery. The purpose is to educate the populace so that it may handle crises of all sizes, both great and small.

The goal of NPAoA is to reduce or eliminate human suffering induced by a crisis through education and preparation. Many times during a crisis, images of human suffering are displayed on TV screens across the country. Much of this suffering could have been avoided if the populace involved had been properly trained and prepared. People stuck on the roof tops from flooding, trapped in rubble from an earth quake or freezing to death from being trapped by a blizzard are just a few of images we have seen. In all cases if the people had been properly trained and prepared they would have survived and only suffered an inconvenience. Being stuck on a roof top during a flood may not be convenient but it can be survivable with food, water and shelter.

Members of NPAoA will have the resources available to create and execute plans for different types of crises allowing them to survive and flourish after an event.
